Alpaca Pom Pom Key Fobs or Back-Pack Zip Pulls

• Meet the alpacas out on the farm, learn about these beautiful animals and their incredible fleeces.
• Work with a sample of fleece from your chosen alpaca.
• Make your very own alpaca pom pom key ring fob or zip pull.

Suitable for: Age 10+ to adult
Duration: 2 – 2.5 hours (allow 2.5 to ensure work completed) (maximum 10 people)

Included in the price: farm tour, all materials and light refreshments: tea/ coffee and biscuits

Willow Weave An Alpaca Bird Nest Builder

• Meet the alpacas out on the farm, learn about these beautiful animals and their incredible fleeces.
• Work with willow from the farm to create a suet ball bird feeder and an alpaca fibre bird nest builder. Fill your willow structure with alpaca fibre.
• Your garden friends will have the most luxurious nests in the neighbourhood!
• Using short fleece which cannot be spun, we make sure we put every bit of fibre to good use with this fun and easy sustainable activity.

Alpaca Spinning and Bracelet Braiding

• Alpaca fibre is among the finest fibre in the world. Soft and long and in a range of beautiful natural colours, alpaca can be a joy to spin if you know where to start!
• Meet the alpacas out on the farm, learn about these beautiful animals and all about their incredible fleeces. Learn and understand what makes it different from sheep’s wool.
• Learn how to take the fleece from its raw state through to making a finished yarn using carding and spinning. Create some yarn in beautiful natural colours and create your own alpaca bracelets.
• Use card looms or knitting techniques.

Felting Soap

• Meet the alpacas out on the farm, learn about these beautiful animals and their incredible fleeces.
• Learn all the basic techniques to get you going with wet felting. In this easy introductory workshop you will learn about the ancient art of felt making practised by nomadic people of Central Asia who have been doing this for thousands of years. The technique is now being adopted by textiles artists across the globe.
• Learn about the process of bonding wool fibres together using the slightly messy wet felting method.
• Alpaca felted soaps are incredibly sustainable- they reduce water usage, make soap last longer, prevent gunky build up on your sink and act as a brilliant exfoliator and anti-bacterial.
• Make your own printed labels to make your soaps perfect as gifts.  Soaps will be palm oil free, vegan and ethically sourced.
• Whilst your soap is drying meet the alpacas and get to know these beautiful animals.
• All fibres will be natural colours. All materials supplied.
