Sundays are for a stroll in the countryside…

Happiness is a walk in the countryside at Great Ground Farm. Just look at those happy faces (and we think the people enjoyed it too!)

Pastures new…

Although it’s sad to see them go, we’re glad that our three girls Brunhilde, Talini & Briza are going to such a good new home with Sue Dyson at Alden Alpacas. We wish her all the best with her new herd & eagerly await news of births as the season progresses.

Arkadia Alpacas at Weston May Fair

Arkadia Alpacas are out and about again today at Weston May Fair

Electra’s Return

The other pregnant mums were delighted to welcome Electra back to the herd today after her week in hospital at the Royal Veterinary College. It’s been worrying for all of us, but she’s recovering well and being back with her companions is sure to make sure she’s back to her old self sooner.

Walking with Alpacas…

Is it Spring at last?

A bit of February sunshine today was really appreciated by our South American creatures at GGF.

Happy alpacas…

It was time today to introduce this year’s cria and their mums to the far meadow. Lots of excitement at the vast expanse of lush green grass was followed by exploratory galloping before the herd reformed to settle down for the night.

Pumpkin thief!

2016-10-11-14-32-56

This might sound unbelievable, but I just caught a fleeting glimpse of an old man leaving my garden on a mobility scooter laden with my prized pumpkins I’d just harvested. I wasn’t quick enough to get a photo as I was fully occupied chasing him on foot – lost him in the Hinton Road area (out of breath & very annoyed!)

If anyone gets offered cheap pumpkins by a dodgy looking old fella with mobility issues, please let me know…
